Q: I deferred my entry to next year. How do I know if my registration is set for next year's race?

A: You will receive a registration confirmation that your entry has been entered into the next year's database. If you change email addresses, please notify us of the change.

Q: I am injured and cannot run. What are my options?

A: All requests for deferral must be completed 10 days in advance of the event. That deadline has passed. You can email to change your registration to become a Virtual Runner.

Q: What time does the race start?

A: The Great Huey P Long Bridge Run starts at 8:00am CT

Q: Is there a time limit?

A: Yes. We aim to accommodate as many participants as possible, however there is a  course time limit - we need to close the course at 9:15.

Q: When and where does the event officially end?

A: The Course is closed 9:15 AM

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: The race will happen rain or shine. If inclement weather is present race management may delay the start. If lighting is present we will delay until it is deemed safe to run by local authorities. Please check local weather prior to race morning to dress & prepare properly for whatever weather there may be.

Q: Do I get a Finisher's Medal even if I finish in last place?

A: Of course you do! See the Medal >> 

Q: What are the different awards divisions?


  • Top 3 Overall M/F

  • Overall Master winner (M/F 40+)

  • Overall Grand Master winner (M/F 50+)

  • Overall Senior Grand Master winner (M/F 60+)

  • Top three M/F of each age group:

    • 14 & under,

    • 15-19,

    • 20-24,

    • 25-29,

    • 30-34,

    • 35-39,

    • 40-44,

    • 45-49,

    • 50-54,

    • 55-59,

    • 60-64,

    • 65-69,

    • 70-74

    • 75-79

    • 80 and over

      Overall awards are decided based on gun time, age group awards are decided based on participant’s chip time.

Results will be posted online after the race.
